Default Moondog Coronation Ball 2009

Went to the 2009 Moondog Coronation Ball, Rock N Roll Show, at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Oh. last night with the Wife and friends. The show kicked off week long festivities for the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremonies this next weekend.

A local oldies radio station in Cleveland, Majic 105.7, always puts on this event every year at this time. The show was started by Alan Freed back in the 1950s at the old Cleveland Audotorium...

This years musical guests were Jerry "The Iceman" Butler, Three Dog Night, Little Richard, Peter Noone & Herman's Hermits, and Tommy James and the Shondells.

Little Richard had to be wheeled out in a wheelchair. He was very upset at the start of the concert and was yelling at the camera people to take him off the large "jumbotron" TVs during his first song.. For 76 he can still sing and whack the old ivory keys...

My favorites were 3 Dog Night, Peter Noone and Tommy James. They were fabulous, jammed out, still sound awesome and have lots of energy!!

If you go to www.wmji.com you can check out the pictures from the show. I forgot my camera but would not have taken any better pictures than are posted on this website... Enjoy...

When the Power Tour started in Cleveland a couple of years ago, we spent the afternoon at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame......It's a "Must" do if you are in town.......also took a tour of a Lake Freighter and the WW II Submarine downtown..........Pretty Cool........
