Default 450R vs YFZ450

I was wondering if anyone could give me a comparison base on the first hand experience. Good or bad.

Maybe little bro will poke his head in here...he had a worked '89 Honda 250R with a 350cc powervalve engine...so he walked all the 450s. He raced against them all, so he should have an idea of which was more competitive...

Comparitively speaking (and as a father) I would recommend that you wear a helmet with either one!!

Ha! Dad rode had a Quadzilla for a while...he & a buddy here in town [buddy had a worked Banshee] used to battle all the time...think I had an '88 250R at the time, one of the best quads EVER. I went to mx bikes for a while, then eventually ended up with a 400ex with a 440 kit...was a GREAT woods quad, but it sat quite a bit so I sold it...only quad we have now is an ancient 220 Bayou!

Joe: what's your plan with the 450...cc, mx, rodeo, or just play time?

the 500 has been in moth balls for two years now..bought the thing new and still has the original tires sprockets chain etc..its a time capsule!!..survivor maybe ....had to put it away..did not play nice with others ..switched to something more comfortable and have a Arctic cat 650 H1..rides like a cadilac

Just looking for something new. I've had a banshee for 10years and been through the normal blow it up and sink more money in it. A couple of my buddies have 450R's and seen a yfz for sale and wuz wondering how they match up. I like the honda its quick out of the hole and has great handling. I have also ridden the 660 raptor, not real excited about it. It seems way to top heavy and not quick enough response.
Al why did he put a big bore kit in? Alot of the ones I see for sale either have rebuilt motors or new ones. Just curious if these are known to have issues with motors.
Still on the fence.
Joe

I'm a idiot rider and bought the Hona450 when they first came out..Too fast for me. Bought the electric start Honda 250 and it was a great bike but I seldom rode so the battery would be dead...Now all I have is Mini Trails or junk.....
