Just ran across this...looks like our closest ChryCo dealer survived the cut [for now], but others around here weren't so lucky...

I know on the GM side, that some dealers are balking and seeking legal advise concerning state franchise laws...not sure if the same is/isn't applicable in...from what I gather, a lot hinges on whether or not the parent company is in bankruptcy or not.

That's what I'm hearing too. GM is having to deal with individual State laws/statutes. Unfortunately, 'Size and Strength' will win out. If you're on the list, you're toast ....... eventually.
I have friends at two dealerships. One of them is expected to close. The other MAY be safe for now. It's relatively small, but they're in a good market area with little or no like-brand competition. We'll see. ![]()

Two of our local NJ Chrysler dealers that have been in business over 100 years combined, are on the list. One of them, Belle Meade Garage, is the dealer that I bought my Sun Diagnostic Machine from. Very sad. The list is made up entirely of small family-oriented, community dealerships.
I see that Palmer Dodge in Indianapolis is on the list. That was the dealer that supplied the ill-fated Dodge Challenger pace cars for the 1971 Indy 500. ![]() |

It's really a sad day for the auto industry and those who depend on these institutions to support their families.........I hope the negotiations are being fair and above board.to the rules of the existing. bankruptcy laws and not Washington pulling strings with obvious play and pay/back practices......*****This is just my take on what seems to be goin' on just lookin' past the smoke and mirrors****...I'm still having trouble invisioning a 426 Fiat that runs on batteries or soilent green...

Not all of them are small dealers. My largest competitor is on the list. Some small dealers are still huge parts dealers... The jobs lost in all this are very unfortunate.
