Default Its nice to revisit the origins of your addiction

I went down to visit my parents for the 4th and as in most days the conversation turned to cars. My father (obviously not a smart man) always has to remind my mother that the only reason he persued, dated and finally married her was the fact that she drove a Corvette and a Bonneville Convertible to High School (hmmm I don't remember driving a Corvette to High School ... it was more like a 76 Monte Carlo ) We got to talking about car docs and my father was like oh I have every order form, invoice, pop and manuals for all cars I owned and your grandfather somewhere. I had to do a quick count of the beer cans as my Father, Grandfather and I have been into cars together for as long as I can remember and talk of all these docs has never surfaced. Needless to say the hunt was on .. a few hours later we found the first of three boxes (still looking for the other two) Posting some of the highlights ....

Wish we still had this one ...

57 Vette ...

In November of 61 he bought a RPO 353 = 275hp Fuel Injection engine and again in May bought another 61 RPO 354 = 315hp Fuel Injection engine ...

63 Vette ...

Amazing they kept eveything on these cars - next project is to upload some of the pics and find the other two boxes for the late 60s early 70s - very cool stuff.

gr8 stuff

NCRS should read those to make sure the tops have odd paint blobs on them

plus the FI should have metal filings in the fuel system in order to be "correct"

LOL

Wow! That's some neat stuff! That one letter is pretty harsh but it's understandable after spending that much money. Now these are the people that really remember how these cars really were, not through rose-colored glasses 40 years later, and they watch the televised auctions nowadays and just wonder how such troublesome cars back then can command such crazy prices today!

It'd be cool to track down where the car is now and reunite the paperwork with the current owner(s)!
