Default Good guy alert: Larry Langston

I gotta nice surprise package this weekend from Larry Langston (larry_csa) down in Memphis...totally unexpected, but rediculously cool to any gear head.

First up...my fellow S/S groupies will appreciate this first one...it's an original t-shirt from the man Bobby DeArmond himself, that's even signed/dated by Bobby, from this record setting pass @ Mission, when he was first Stock car to run in the 9s (uncorrected)...in his 427 Camaro, of course! I can still remember the day I read about the pass, and the day I read Bobby had made up some shirts, but that they were all spoken for. Anyway, it's got a cool launch picture on the back, and a copy of the time slip and Bobby's signature on the front. Bobby sent this shirt to Larry after the record run, and Larry graciously passed it on to me:

This shirt is from the very last year that Larry worked @ the US Nats while he was with Cam Dynamics/TCI. Funny thing about this shirt is, my wife was sitting there when I first opened the box from Larry, and she saw this shirt and thought it looked "cute" and immediately through it on, and wore it the rest of the day! And here I've felt guilty buying these "vintage" event t-shirts in the past...now that I know she digs 'em, I'll be less choosy! Anyway, the shirt...

And lastly, a cool VooDoo cams shirt...this thing just looks mean!

And again, a big THANK YOU to Larry, for the shirts!

Cool shirt. Have you ever checked out the Horsepower Heaven website? They've got lots of class racing coverage, and lots of event videos. I've got the " Four Days in May " video that chronicles DeArmond's historic weekend, as well as lot's of other great racing coverage.

cool stuff Rob.......you would go crazy in my dads closet then.....he has about 4-500 shirts from the 70's brand new, never worn from all kinds of national events, car shows, parts suppliers like holley, crower, crane, stuff like that still in the plastic. he gave Dominic an original Team Strange T-shirt from back in the day(the one with the axle logo on the front with Blue sleeves with the stars on them.) we saw Chris the Greek Karamasines in joliet a few years ago and had him sign it since strange is his life long sponsor.......

WoW! Rob, that is an awesome T-shirt! I love how it has the time (8:19 AM) and date at the bottom AND the complete time slip on the front. You know that cool morning air had to be a factor and an hour or two later into the morning would have resulted in probably just another 10.00 - 10.03 run! I once remember Reher-Morrison saying that the power is in the "air" and not the fuel like many believe.

Anyone else see the video FOUR DAYS IN MAY? Awesome footage, they video document the teardown by NHRA's Jerry Valentine.
