Default BB & 10.5" Clutch

Would like to run a 10.5" clutch setup in the '69 with the BB, I have all the parts except the flywheel. Somebody needed the 621 housing more than me, so I traded him for a nice 403. Anyone see any issues with this combo? I thought the L88 vettes used a 10.5" setup.....

Marlin,

L88's did use a 10.5 flywheel. It is still available from GM # 14085720. Only weighs 15lbs.

Awesome, thanks for the part number! Didn't the '69 Z's also use a 10.5"?

If you wanna see something really neat, check out rare dual-disc clutch that, I believe, was a one-year-only option in 1969. I've always been surprised that it wasn't more popular and didn't really take off. Anybody here ever fool around with one? Please don't confuse this with the Centerforce Dual Friction Clutchs either because they are two entirely different animals.

----Marlin,,,You will love the light flywheel, especially if the car has a healthy gear. I did this swap to several 425 and 435hp Corvettes and it absolutely woke them up......Bill S

Use whatever flywheel you want, but if this is Benjamin's car, run a scatter shield. He might just over-rev it a bit learning how to "flat-shift" when dad isn't looking.
