Default Alternator Casings

Hi All,

Can someone provide photos of the differences between a 1968 Delco alternator case and a 1969 Delco alternator case?

Thanks,
Dan

I never knew there was a difference but by comparing there is. Look at the area right above the plug in the 69 has a rib the 68 doesnt. The upper mounting bosses are also different. I will try and get better pictures later.

I have another 69 without that rib but they both have the bolt hole for the mounting bracket

There's one listed as a 63-68 housing on e pay right now,

alt housing

but it isn't correct for 63 and 64 since it has a round hole on the left rear perimeter in the picture. It may be correct for a 68, but 63 and 64 only had seven rectangular slots around the rear, and no round hole needed for the wire strain attachment to plug into.
