Default 1971 CUDA HELP

Any mopar guys out there?? Question do all 4 spd cars have the little reverse light indicator on the dash?or is it a option?thanks John

Every 4 spd Mopar that I had (12 or so) always had the light. Not sure about 3 spd cars though. Happy New Year and all the best in 2012.

My experience is that Chrysler instituted this in '71 for all 4 speeds as a safety precaution to ensure everyone knew when they were in REVERSE.

I believe that my 1970 Challenger had that, but it's been 15 years since I owned that car, so I could be wrong.

edit: now that I think about it, I believe even my 69 Dart Swinger 340 had that feature, and it's been almost 40 years since I sold that car....yikes!!! That Dart was about as bare bones a car as you could buy, so I seriously doubt that it was an option.

Both the Challenger and the Dart were 4 speeds.
