Default Gas pumps

Guys, what are the most popular gas pumps? Brands? Best years to purchase? We may also look for some ones in need of repairs.
Thanks for any help and info!

Tom

That's subjective, and really difficult to say.Like saying which cars brands & years are the most popular to purchase.
There are fans & followings for nearly every single oil company produced throughout the years.
As far as pumps go,some only look for them used & molested & in need of repair,to tear them down and completely restore all nice & shiney. While others seek them used, lightly molested, and leave em that way.
Although there are some on this site that do too,I'm one of a minority on this site that collects gas pumps & their history.
I suggest you register & become a member of http://oldgas.com/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=cfrm
Quite frankly, the most informative gas station forum & related objects you can find on the web. These guys have been everywhere, and seen nearly everything there was/is.Their various annual endorsed shows around the country are highly attended & extremely informative. They love people who try to stump them with a question or object..it's their forte to find an answer.
Nearly every single gas pump/station question you have, can be answered there, but it may take a few days/weeks,as many of those old guys who worked around ethyl, don't ride a keyboard daily/weekly.

I have owned quite a few pumps over the years and my 3 favorite ones are: National 38 that is a phillip 66. Wayne 60 that has a Bronzzzz add glass and a Hayes that I can't remember the model but has a very art deco theme. Any clock face pumps are cool as well.

Sunoco High Octane pumps. Ask rick to show you the one that he restored. I have the same one but nothing like Rick's.

If you collect muscle cars... that's the pump.

I own A Wayne 492 Roman column, A Tokheim 36B & all six M&S 80 script top pumps. I'm "script top dude" on Old Gas.
They're like cars...you have to find what you like & then the brand gas you like

Here are some pumps a couple of friends of mine have. Seems that the gravity fed stuff is popular around here.

I'm looking for a Gilmore pump and saw a few at the auction over the weekend. I'm really not sure what I'm looking at, muscle cars I know, gas pumps I don't know. There's one now on ebay with a starting bid of $3,200 that looks nice.
