You gotta use the minus sign when you do your search. Only thing is, you can only use 100 spaces on the search bar. 69 Camaro -hubcap -keychain -whachamacallit -poster

There are a few ways to do Ebay searches to help find what you want. Like John said, put a - in front of words you want deleted from the search, -fits will eliminate a lot of the junk. You can also put words in parentheses, (). To search for more that one item or year. If you are looking for a part that is correct for more than one year car you can do something like this: (1967, 67, 1968, 68, 1969, 69) and the search will bring up parts that work for all the years listed. I think you can - up to about 50 words and do the same with the (). You can also do more than one set of parentheses in a single search. You can use the parentheses and the minus in the same search too

I've been irritated as well for a while. I've given up some of my searching because of all the junk. I actually emailed ebay a few times asking how I can do a search and eliminate certain sellers. It seems there are certain people that just have to put 100 ads for the same tire, 50 carpet dash covers, 60 sets of floor mats, 75 car covers, etc. I figured if ebay set things up just as was explained in the previous post, except the search would also reference the sellers. So if we used the parentheses and put in the sellers ID it would eliminate them. It has worked sometimes as long as the seller has his ID in the body of the ad (it depends sometimes on how the ad was built). I've actually had some success by referencing a phone number or something unique to the seller. Even though I sent emails, ebay has totally ignored my request. I'm not on as much as I used to. It's more of a waste of time now.

E-Bay could care less if you are happy with the process...the fact that they ignored your inquiry tells you that. I know it has been a useful tool for many folks in the hobby...too bad they don't have more consideration for the folks using their site.
They are the worlds largest electronic flea market...reminds me of all the junk dealers that have watered down events like Carlisle wilma

I'm with ya. Are there really 17,000 items on eBay that are truly applicable to my 69 Biscayne? I mean I'm sure a pair of flame covered bucket seat covers would look awesome in it, but.....

Searching with -fits works great; eliminates a lot of things I'm not interested in. But I have found that you may still miss out on some items where someone is unsure of what they have and lists it that way. Still better than going through countless pages of seat covers.
