don renfrow 55 chevy crash
I am sure alot of you guys have seen this crash on youtube.Amazing to say the least.just type in don renfrow to see the wreck.Curious anybody know what race track or the year this happened.Interesting to say the least.Chris teed

Billboard in the background mentions Hayward and Fremont which are a couple of Bay area towns, so maybe the track is Sonoma?
I hope this guy looks into bolting down his seat, and using well-anchored seat belts. You can't always count on being "thrown clear"   -Sam

That's Fremont, later known as Baylands Raceway. Long gone, sad to say. The GM plant (now Toyota) is across the highway and back in the old days the track and the plant were just about the only thing out there. First time I went to Fremont was in 1974 when I won tickets through the Revell Master Modelers Club and it was a afternoon-evening show wth the Revell funnies and a few rails. I went back there a few years ago and walked through what was left of the pits. The track had been torn up and turned into gravel and everything was gone except for the pole that held the electrical supply to the tower.

the first time I watched it, I thought, why isn't that guy going to check on the driver, why is he just kneeling there watching....until I realized, that is the driver
