I'm in the process of assembling a subframe for 69 Camaro Z28
The bolts that hold the cross member to the subframe - im told the correct bolts have a flanged head and the bolts go up thru the frame with the nuts on top of the subframe. HBC has a set of bolts that im told is incorrect...i don't know?? Also the HBC bolts have only 2 washers for 4 bolts? Anyone have an orig car where the cross member has been removed and can tell the type of bolts, washers and nuts that are correct and the orientation? Thnaks SYC

Ed,
I could not get a good picture, I'll try again later. The bolt inserts from the bottom up, non-flanged, 3/8" course thread, has a lock washer and nut on top of X-member. Bolt is about 1" long. I'll try to measure later today. Phil |

Yes Ed,
That is what mine look like, non-flanged, grade 5. The bolts on the right side of the car get the flat washer on top of the subframe, then lock washer, then nut. Woj |

Ed,
I stand corrected. The one bolt I photographed has a flange, very thin though. More details later. I have to help Mr. Chevy move. Woj |

Nova and camaro should be the same... The L79 nova had all the original bolts I re-used. I can remove one and take a picture for you tonight. I am almost positive it had a flange. I even think I have some originals from another car if needed.

This is the bolt that was in my nova cross member an A on the top and 1 inch long.
I checked for bolts and I only found 3 and I have 1 that is about a ˝’ longer. It could be cut down so you would have 4 PM me if interested in bolts. ![]() ![]()
