im working (restoring) a 69 rs ss 350 / 300 hp camaro with air for a client.
additionally, it is an automatic car, and a NON california car as well. Norwood build 12C of 68. Im trying to find what the orig air cleaner part number and size number is for this type engine combo. Also looking for an NOS one as well - whenever i find out the right numbers!! Appreciate the help!

Eddie,
Is the car an automatic or manual shift? I've got a call in with a friend that may have the answer. Does the assembly manual show a part number or two letter code? I had Jim Osborn reproductions make the correct air cleaner stickers for the L48 about 12 years ago. I believe he did the auto and manual trans applications. The auto trans air cleaner was coded CM with a part number of 6484582. The manual trans car had the part number ending in 581. This was for 69 Chevelle, not sure if that translates to the Camaro??? Hi Eddie,
The sticker on my rs/ss L48 auto a/c, built 3B is P/N 6484584. I know the early sticker had a black background and the later was white, so car build date is critical. There is a 7 page discussion on this topic over at the CRG. I posted pictures and dims over there last year. http://www.camaros.org/forum/index.php?topic=8847.0

Steve,
That is a great discussion on the topic. Should answer Eddie's question. Close part numbers to the Chevelle, but certainly not the same. Phil Woj. |
