Default Judging scores Has anyone EVER had 1000/1000?

Has anyone ever had a perfect judging score on a restoration or survivor car? MCACN, Legends, NCRS, Chevy Vettefest?

Just curious since that gorgeous L78 Nova in the classifieds lost one point for who knows what.

We had a few cars score 1000 at VetteFest only to be told that the head judge would never allow a perfect score in a 1000 point event. So one point would have to be deducted. One time it was for a leaf that blew into the fan shroud...stupid stuff like that. Since the show has changed to MCACN, we have never had a car judged again...BKH

"only to be told that the head judge would never allow a perfect score in a 1000 point event."

I am sorry, but that is just asinine.

As far as newly restored cars go,I understand Brians' stand on this, but I also understand a judge.
Leaf in fan shroud aside, you can always find something incorrect/questionable on a restored car.
Too many people & plants built these, and at various time frames,so opinions differ, that's just natural.

If it were possible to go back in time, bring a 69 Camaro off the line and trailer it straight to a judged event, I have no doubt the car would score less than many of the over the top restorations.
They just were not that good.

Wasn't there one from years ago that got a deduction for dust on the subframe? Really?

We got a point taken for a fingerprint on the valve cover.., and one time dust on the trunk hinge. No BS..

I have been nicked many times for dust in or on a car. Fortunately I am not there to see how high a score I can get and am not going to go over a car with a fine tooth comb just for bragging rights. Judge it for what it is. Personally, I take a point deduction for dust as a compliment. Just means they couldn't find anything else.
