Default Poor L79 Nova DOA !

Found this picture on the web ..66 Chevy II looks to be a L79 .
Love the color combo .Never made it to day two .Sad

If the Chevy II driver was wearing a seat belt, he probably survived because the passenger compartment doesn't look too badly damaged.

Chateau Slate is a rare color for 66 Nova SS L79...shame it most likely went to

the crusher! 12 bolt...327/350 HP L79 engine...Muncie 4-speed....Bucket seats...OH

I guy I worked with had worked at Willow Run. His job was to take the cars from the roll test to the storage lot. He got an L79 off the rolls and so did his buddy. They were racing them out to the lot and t-boned each other. Oops, 2 cars down and looking for new jobs.
Imagine the dealer having to tell the customer - well, you car is going to be another week more....

It is hard to tell for sure,but it looks like the Nova might already not have an engine. Even nback in the day when these cars were common,that engine would have been well known as a piece to have,especially in late 66 or 67 after Grump started mopping up in A/S with it. A 12 bolt or Muncie would be more &quot;dime a dozen&quot;,but I bet and L-79 would have been quickly spotted.
