Kudos to Mecum for fielding a strong lineup for its first Seattle auction next month. I was skeptical, not because the Northwest isn't a great place for cars and car people, but because the local auction scene had literally been run into the ground with too-frequent, lackluster auctions. I didn't think they'd be able to draw significant cars at first, but with TWO L88 Corvettes (including a factory sidepipe '67), a '71 Hemi Cuda convertible, a supercharged '57 T-Bird, and a color matched quartet of Boss Mustangs, I don't think this auction can be ignored. I'm hoping its a success and makes Seattle a destination for some of you guys.
