Default Craigslist find/estate pieces

So i browsed craigslist today and found these emblems..thought id go check them out and heres the story..which i have no idea if true, but i cant see a guy lying when i paid nearly nothing for them..

He is a carpenter, and was rehabbing a house in S KC Mo...he found a box with this stuff in it..when he talked to the son of the home owner, the son said his Dad was an exec at Fisher body, and this stuff was given to him...(more likely dad took the stuff...since ive been here i've found bizarre stuff like 2000 sparkplugs pulled off the assy line and taken home..lol)and the son gave them to the carpenter

The tokens are all the same, which i've never seen..and they are 61 SS Impala emblems...they are NOS...and not really all that nice...lightly pitted...very small..lightly all over them, but show well...I looked around and the repops are perfect..these arent..anyway the carpenter said hes had them 25 years and was time to get them to some one else...he wasnt a car guy..and had no idea what they where..they where just advertised as SS emblems...I talked him out of the tokens...

SO..whatta ya think..i know this is a super car site...but there has to be a few impala guys....think they are real? Ive had a bunch of NOS embs and OLD stuff looks like this the shade of red and age is hard to duplicate.....ever see the tokens? I havent...

I've seen and bought quite a few bulk 200 packs of AC plugs in plastic racks back when I was going to swap meets up around the Detroit/Lansing area. Overstock, leftovers, who knows, but there are lots things like that whenever models and/or engine specs change. Not exactly retail customer oriented, but great for bigger garages and dealerships.

----I think that those emblems were rejected at the assembly line and then someone took them home. Look at the emblems and only the SS part is painted. For some reason the flags didn't get painted and were therefor rejected and another pair picked up. Its also possible that they were pre-production. Still cool!.....Bill S
