Back in January I found this 69 X77 D80 factory Cortez silver car with a blue standard interior, I purchased the car locally and it was supposly a local Central NJ from the mid 70's. I was told the car spent a lot of time at mufflix on RT33 in Trenton back in the mid to late 70's. I was able to track down a guy who owned the car in the late 70's and was lucky enough to find that he not only remembered owning the car but he still had pictures of it hanging up in his house. He also told me he towed the car down to car crafts street machine nationals in Indy. He told me he ran two hoods on the car a L88 hood and a grump Lump. If anyone from the area recognizes the car or has any history on it let me know, partial vin is 6N666555

can't help on car or owner history, but congratulations on buying the car and finding those old pictures of it. Silver on dark blue is a great combination, but I guess I'm a little biased as yours is a twin to mine!

Love hearing about finds & seeing pics is especially nice. I really do not like seeing these finds, 'cause I ain't the one "finding" them! LOL.
Question: Did any of the 'born with' drive-train survive? What did, drive-train wise, come with the purchase? Congrats and thanks for sharing and saving another cool car.

Thanks guys, when I bought the car I was planning on putting it back to stock, after seeing the pictures I think I'm going to put it back to how it was, no better excuse to stick a grump lump back on the car lol I need to hunt down some tow taps, and the owner said the car had a Lakewood 3 point bar in it which if you look hard at the l88 hood picture you can see the bar through the window. As far as the original drivetrain the car only has the original rear.

I know of a silver original-owner Z from Princeton, but the last time I saw the car 20 years ago, it was stock.

The hood is not a Grump Lump but a 7" Mopar style scoop.
