Default W-30 - They're still out there!

This car showed up at Green Street Cruise last night in McHenry. Owner states he found this car on a roadside in Wisconsin with a for sale sign two months ago. 70 W-30, convertible 4 speed, no console with claimed 37,000 original miles. Oh, and the W-27 option. Front fenders replaced and one repaint. States seller did not fully know what he had. Passed on from his dad. Says car will be going to Thornton's for full resto this Fall. These are the only pictures taken.

Wouldn't a preservation restoration be more suitable for a car of this caliber ?.
Documented with high quality pics ?

Yes, that was my thought, but I'm not the expert. Owner definitely knew what he wanted and likely not going to change his mind.

WOW I'll bet the guy didn't know what he had... holy crap!
Yes a well planned preservation on the engine compartment would be preferable for sure, if the paint is bad then take it apart and repaint it but a full restoration will destroy the uniqueness of that car's character.

a "restoration" of any sort, by anyone - regardless of who they think they are, is a sin

Holy hell! That color and W30 & W27 wrapped with a droptop to boot! A restoration on that car would be a felony act!

That is one hell of a roadside find.

By the way, this is why you should educate your kids about what's in the garage...so they don't sell your ZL1 Camaro for $35k on Craigslist after you pass.
