Default WIW - 68 Coronet R/T 440

A friend has an orig 68 Coronet R/T 440 - 375 HP - automatic with factory air.

Car has 77K miles, all original with one repaint - orig body panels, minimal to no rust, solid trunk and floors. Has been stored for the last 24 yrs inside. Needs gas tank and obviously started from the long sleep and usual items to get it on the road. No body, engine or other mods. Vinyl roof car - still nice and tight. No frame issues, stock suspension.

Bucket seats, sport wheels, auto on the floor....chrome is nice, not perfect....barn find condition but stored inside a garage.

Paint (Turquoise color - original to the car) needs polished, has a few scratches from the storage, cleaning required, dusty, interior original (ivory color) very good condition. Never in an accident.

Im trying to get an idea of a low to high value of the car.....

Thanks in advance for the advise....

If Clill had one with a 383, either it wasn't an R/T or it wasn't the original engine. The R/T came standard with the 440 Magnum....426 Hemi was the only optional engine.

Charlie had a 69 Super Bee (in Moparland R/T is to a GTX as Super Bee is to a Road Runner). I think Bill is pretty spot-on based upon description. It's likely a 30-35k car when cleaned and renewed, and most buyers are going to hold back $10k to deal with anything unforeseen. I love that year, but R/Ts suffer a bit from lack of recognition compared to the other models mentioned.

I would not go over 20 for it. Non over the top restored it should go for 40K. 50K if it was a 4 speed, maybe a bit more.
Nice car. Love the 440, I have one and it flies. Check to see if it has a dana. I would add a bit more to have that.
Hope it has the back stripe like this car in the link I provided below. Once you buy a mopar, you will likely get the bug. Put Goodyear polyglas L60s on the back with steel wheels (hub caps optional) and that car would look so cool.

I have a 68 R/T with the 426 engine, it is a rocket. It was my first Mopar and I got the bug. I now have 6 Mopars. I think 20k to 30k if you get it running well.

great info guys.....appreciate the thoughts....car currently has no stripe on the rear (had the one repaint so maybe missing??) - i believe he told me it was a single traction car - so no dana under it.

I think - there is 5-8K worth of work to be done on the car....needs tires, redo the brakes due to sitting, trunk needs painted (it began cleaning surface rust and prime red the inside trunk floor only) , get the engine running - so tune up stuff, trans fluid change, needs a gas tank...slight drip in the orig on one corner - maybe rad pulled and cleaned and AC charged.

Interior is very nice - needs a good cleaning and will be a number 2 inside condition, paint should buff up real nice, few scratches to fix, vinyl top still nice and tight....

do u think the 5-8 will cover the getting it on the road??
