Default 621 bellhousing

There is 2 different ones I see. The one has the GM under the part number on the side the other the gm is on top of the bellhousing. Which is correct for a 1969.

I'm sure others will chime in, but my understanding is 69 and up had the GM on the side next to the part number. 68 and earlier has the GM where the cast line is down the center.

Please correct me if I have it all wrong.

Thanks,
Marty

But the truck bellhousing isn't a 621.

Sure it is.
GMC & Chevrolet G-10 & G-20 series trucks with 283cid. & 307cid. used it,starting in 1967 up to I think 1978 models.
After that, the #464697 bellhousing superseded it.

You're saying that the bellhousing pictured on the left, with the different bulged area at the bottom has the same casting number on it as the one on the right???
