I noticed on Ben's Nova that when mating up the square port intake to the oval port heads these openings on the heads are not covered by the intake, only the gasket (I hope). Is this normal? I'm using square port gaskets, but assumed that these were the crossover passages and that they would be covered...

That's normal, it won't be a problem.

I have a 163 sq port intake on my oval port Nova heads. I used a Felpro gasket, and it covers the crossover passages, if you do want them covered. I like the way it looks better.
