Got an email from PayPal asking me to upgrade my account information. Have any of you guys and gals gotten this request recently? Just making sure it's legit. Jeff

I'd log on to you account like normal and see what happens.

I got the same thing from eBay. I have had no changes to my personal info, so I just ignored it.

I think they ask for Social Security # etc. because they now send out 1099 forms for taxes etc. Go to Paypal.com directly to make sure you aren't being scammed.

I RECd the email also -- contacted PayPal and it is a Phishing attempt ... delete it. If there is any question as how legit these are, contact [email protected] ... TAZ [img]<<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/no.gif[/img]

I was told that scams do not use your first and last name but eBay and PayPal do when addressing you. Scams likely reference your username which can be easily traced - first and last name is not easily done. As the safest bet, you can also call the customer line should you need/want additional security?

I got the same scam, i called paypal, they said do Not open it, delete it.
