Can someone help educate me on why this car is so super rare?

It's rare cause the seller said it was , didn't L/78's have 3/8 dimple rods ? A $1,000 for a set of7/16 rods seems high , I can remember having a hard time getting 250 for a NOS set ...unless they have really went up in price ???

Yes.....in 1969, both the 396/375 and 427/425 came with 3/8" dimple rods. The L88 and ZL1 came with 7/16" dimple rods.

The missing tranny is a real problem...those CX hi-perf units are hard to come by especially with the 6 lug convertor. As others have mentioned the 3/8 rods were std...not sure why he's making a big deal about the 7/16 pieces [img]<<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/hmmm.gif[/img]
I didn't see any mention of paperwork... -wilma
