I think the car and story is interesting
I saw/heard Sprngsteen 30 years ago and liked his OLD music alot. Please explain to me why this car should be worth $400-$500 K........What would be the obsession?? Or is it just beyond words, beyond comprehension ?

Some folks just crave celebrity owned vehicles. Personally, I wouldn't pay any extra for a celebrity owned car. It would be different if the car itself had some historical significance.
I remember Jackie O's BMW selling for more than 10x normal market value about 15 years ago. I had a similar car, except mine was a 73 4 speed with the little bumbers; hers a 74 auto with the giant federal bumpers. I believe it has since been repainted from the original fjord blue to a turqouise color. I am sure it comes up on the market from time to time. Just cuz a celebrity owned one of these cars won't make it any faster, more fun to drive or cheaper to maintain. Just costs more.

I think it's because alone, they're both a great piece of Americana by themselves.Together they align & can bring others to pay that kind of money.
This particular type of car, plus Bruce owning it = transcends the norm. If Bruce owned a yellow Triumph TR7 back then instead and it had a pencil in the glovebox with his teeth marks on it,it wouldn't get 1/5th this price. ..are you listening Jon Voight. |
