Neat little Mustang coupe with good colors. However, I've come to expect a bit more information provided by the seller...I don't think "Ford Mustang" is a sufficiently detailed description to get the car sold.
Looks like a flip that was recently sold for $35k out of Florida. Link to 1966 K-Code Mustang auction ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() 6t07k144606 |

I'm gonna call BS on that door tag. Never say never, but that overly square and fancy script is just not something I see on original cars, its always reproduction tags. Its a '66 so no Marti report available to verify colors or options. I'd go into this car with some skepticism. Attached is what I think a "real" tag should look like.

Tag looks fresh with old rivets. Isn’t this a bit more accepted in the Ford world since doors get replaced and the original VIN is on the inner fender? Maybe he has the original tag?

The type font of the stampings in the tag is not the same - nowhere close, not to mention the quality of the ACTUAL printing of the tag is not CLOSE to being a FINE.
Whatever they were using for process was terrible compared to original, it appears as through the resolution was poor, look at the center of the B on the printed tag. There is a spec on the pictured, on the other very defined.

I'm kind of a Ford guy, and I care as much about the door tags on a pre-'67 Ford as I do about GM firewall trim tags and Mopar fender tags as far as verifying colors, interiors, and certain options. I understand how they can go missing when a door is replaced, but if the information on that tag is important to me, and if there's no build sheet or paperwork, its significant. At least where restoration and provenance are concerned. If you're building a restomod or Day 2 car, its not that big of a deal. But they're hawking a red/red 4 speed K code, so its a thing.
