This auction of a ‘65 GTO was posted here by Mr. “scuncio” on 3-21-2020 just about the time the Covid bomb was being dropped on planet earth.
I already had a nice ‘65 Survivor from New Jersey, but I was still compelled to contact the seller for more information on his NJ GTO. I wanted a photo of the firewall “data plate” from his Baltimore built car to compare to my BAL car. The photo he sent me was terrible, but I could still decipher it. His plate says W6 (Bluemist Slate with Black Cordova Top). His Car Billing History card says W2A. My plate says Y6 (Mayfair Maize with Black Cordova Top). My Car Billing History card says Y2A. Confirmation that the Baltimore plant designated “6” for Black, but Pontiac used the number “2” for Black. Several similarities between these two cars besides the N.J. and BAL Built. Factory paint and pinstripes. Same factory Powertrain, 389 4BBL. Automatic Wood steering wheel. Padded dash. Console. Power Antenna. Back up Lamps Seat Belt Delete. Optional 1’’ White Wall tires. His ‘65 had 39,850 My car had 43,440 His Original Owner passed in 2016. My Original Owner passed in late 2014. This car has a lot of potential in the right hands. Most everything incorrect can be resolved. Chris Last edited by 60sStuff; 05-22-2021 at 01:10 AM. |
