Default Very Cool Orig Paint '66 396/3-sp Stick Caprice, Black on Black

Sure it's a 4-door hardtop, but what a cruiser, and how odd that it was ordered with the BB and three on the tree. Absolutely love it. Original paint, too....

Something's fishy. Not saying there is any intentional misleading going on.

IAR suffix is a 396/325 with Rochester Carb.

IAH is same engine with Holley Carb.

I believe the intakes would have been different.

Auction listing says it still has "Original Holley 3130".

Engine date code looks like Jan 28, but car was built first week of April.

Not saying it couldn't happen; just unlikely.

Interesting points Lynn. The intakes would indeed be different. Could be he's mistaken on what carb is on it?? Maybe intake/carb was changed at some point? There definitely are questions on that. I'd like to see the POP. No pics of that.

I was wondering about that as well. You would think even the low horse 396 would get a 12 bolt.

Powertrain chart on GM Heritage center site shows 3.31 standard gear behind the L35/M13 combo. 3.31 is a 12-bolt (comparable 10-bolt would be 3.36). So appears either the axle or the engine has been changed.

Same seller had a very nice 2-dr post clone 396/3-spd for sale on eBay recently. But was clearly described as a clone. Makes you wonder though ...
