Hi Guys, the hood on my car does not fit right on the driver side rear. It sits up too high, the passenger side is fine. I have tried to pivot the driver side hinge, shimmed it which helped but seems as if I need to start all over and carefully install the hood. The car has OEM fenders on it and OEM header panel. Any process help is appreciated.

How tight are the hinges ? worn hinges will cause that too. They can be rebuilt by Willie Wilson.

Strange looking rivets, not original. Aftermarket ? Left forward arm is binding badly too.

Not sure if you did this, but if you raise the hinge on the front bolt of the hinge, it will drive the back of the hood down. I've done this numerous times. Just barely loosen the back hinge/fender bolt, position yourself with shoulders ready to push up on the hood just forward of the hinge; then loosen the forward hinge bolt until you can raise front of the hinge. Just do an 1/8' or so at a time.
Worn hinges can be a problem too. Good luck. |

looks like a reproduction cowl to hood seal that can be an issue too.

Regarding the hood hinges, they were on the car and looked aged so thought they were original.
I have tried to pivot hinge no luck. Yes aftermarket cowl seal and have been looking for an NOS haven’t found one yet. I may remove part of the cowl seal to see if that helps. I have stuck my hand under the hood at the problem area but seems the cowl seal does not have a lot of pressure from the hood

NOS cowl seals are difficult to find. I've seen guys literally cut them down by half and that has helped. You can remove it all together and see if that is a factor.

Yea my next move is to remove it and see if that helps. Wish I would had saved the original one. It was battered but better than this crap.
