Default Camarofest 2000

This past 4th of July weekend, I got the honor of being one of the guest speakers at Camarofest 2000 in Ann Arbor, Michigan. A couple of the other guest speakers were Dale and Matt Berger of Berger Chevrolet and Jim Mattison, formerly of Chevrolet. With a turnout of over 300 Camaros, there was a little bit of everything there. As per COPO cars, there was a 1969 Berger COPO 427 Camaro, a 1968 Yenko Camaro and ZL-1 #1. Of course there were several of the very special 2000 Berger Camaros. The event staff needs to be commended, as they put on a great show. One interesting note was concerning the 1968 COPO 396/375 automatic Novas. During my talk, I mentioned the Novas and how this was Fred Gibb's idea and that he got 50 of them, enough to meet the NHRA rules. Dale Berger spoke up and mentioned that he also received/sold 1 of the Novas, a dark blue one. At this point, Jim Mattison mentioned that there were actually 53 of the special Novas built. Tom
