Default 69 ZL1 RS displayed at Rockefeller Center for car show

I wanted to let everybody know that there were some very interesting cars displayed at "The Louis Vuitton Classic at Rockefeller Center" (in Manhattan NYC) last weekend. One of the cars of interest was Craig Jackson's (of Barrett Jackson Auction fame)1969 Rally-Sport ZL1 Camaro. The car is silver/black int with a black "nose stripe". The car originally came from Indianapolis, Indiana and still was on MSO. I went to the show and got to see a number of great cars! Also on display were "the Penske-Donohue 68' Z28, Dan Gurney-Swede Savage 1970 AAR Cuda, 1971 AMC Javelin Trans-Am and many many more.It was so cool to see Muscle Cars getting the same respect as the other cars that were on display. There was everything there from a copper bodied 1921 Rolls Royce Silver Ghost to a 1996 McLaren F1 GTR. I thought that everyone would enjoy hearing that the Muscle Cars were welcomed with open arms!

Andrew

Andrew, that ZL-1 is a looker, it has to be one of the highest optioned ZL-1s made. Those stripes on that Cortez silver are great.

It is nice to see the muscle cars gaining respect in more mainstream events. American Express publishes a magazine called "Departures" for AMEX Platinum card holders. In the latest issue is an article about collector cars and the 70 Chevelle LS-6 Convertible that sold at this year's Barrett Jackson Scottsdale auction for ~ $110K was mentoined along w/a color picture. I proudly displayed this too my wife as justification for my muscle car addiction.

Here we go again! In my opinion, we need to beware of starting or perpetuating rumors about specific cars. Anybody can say anything about any car. Without hard facts and irrefutable evidence, not word of mouth/hearsay, I'd be careful what you say.

I respect your opinion. I'm not so sure Rusty would appreciate your sharing what I assume was a private conversation with the whole world. Reasonable people can disagree on how to handle these issues. But, that's just my opinion. One false rumor, and there have been plenty, can damage values and reputations.

Thanks for the post. You have made some good points. I however am not afraid of speaking the truth about an issue. Mr. Symmes made no indication to me of any level of confidential correspondiance needed on this disclosure. I hope if you ever buy a ZL-1 or Yenko, that you get the whole story of the car-either from the owner, or someone who knows the history of the vehicle before you spend the big $$. Best of luck!
