What was the date on that issue of Super Street Cars? The article also stated that the car was silver...did Randy repaint it himself? or was that part of a Motion order. Just curious if you asked him...it'd be cool to know and easier for me to spot in a barn..hehe.

The car was originally silver with black Motion stripes. In the article it mentions the car started out as a Motion Phase III 454. Randy repainted the car himself several years later. The article was from '75-'76. It shows how these cars get further modified once in the hands of the owner(s). In the article it says Randy went through 4 engines. 2nd one built by himself, 3rd by Richie Zul and 4th by Speedwin
The original Motion 454 lasted 1 year. I met Randy at a NMCA car/drag race show in Maple Grove. He entered his Trans Am in the car show after-you guessed it-he blew up his engine at the drag portion of the event. whitetop |

Here is a magazine article (Super Street Cars) on Randy Colombos '71 Phase III Camaro. I met Randy by chance at a car show 5 years ago and asked him about the car. Did not know what happened to it but he has the original Motion hood hanging in the garage and the Sun gauges. The car had an Edelbrock Tunnel ram. There are three pages.
