Default Speedo gear color with 4:10 rear??

I am restoring a '70 Nova with a non original Turbo 400, 4:10 rear and E70x14 tires. The speedo reads way off and I have since purchased the #15635472 gear reduction adapter (0.8241 UF).

My question is, what color and number of teeth would the speedo drive gear use in the above application?

Thanks for the help.

Maybe I should rephrase the question......does anyone with a '70 Deuce or other car with a Turbo 400, 4:10 and E70x14 tires know what color speedometer drive gear they have in their transmission? (used in conjuntion with the speedo reduction gear).

Rick
If you are talking about the plastic gear at the end of the cable that links to the shaft gear,I think it should be part #9775187,lite Blue,45 teeth, and was originally 1.90 from the parts dept.

There are 5 others to choose from, but this looks like what the book calls for.

Any Deuce owners out there care to check?

FYI:My L-78 Chevelle uses a green gear with 42 teeth.
The BEARS!

I'll wait and see if any Deuce people respond but your notes sound close to being accurate Rick. It currently has the black 40 tooth gear and reads approx 20 mph fast (without the gear reduction installed)

Also the fact that yours is a 42 tooth gear is because of the different tire size also making the 45 sounding accurate. Thanks for the reply!

Would you believe $7.90 at my cost for plastic!

The black 40 tooth gear is part #1362408,and was only used on:

1970 Passenger (big) cars w/TH400
and 3:07 geared with H78X15, H70X15 tires.

And 1970 Camaro 302,396,w/TH400 3:31 gear with F70X15 tires.
No other applications it was used on according to the parts books back then.

Rick;
Sorry, don't know of any a/t Yenko Deuce owners who will pull the gear to see what the color is, should check the Yenko Deuce Parts Catalog for the part number though. If you installed the gear reducer, make sure you get the 'key' and 'bushing'. I just picked up the bushing today at the dealer, will see if it works!
