Long Island, NY Speed Shop
A few years ago I spotted some vintage/period parts in a store front window of an old speed shop and decided to check it out.
A recent phone conversation reminded me of the place.
It is located just West of Valley Stream, NY on Merrick Road very close to the old Baldwin Chevrolet location.
The proprietor has been there since at least the 1950s. He said that his shop was one of the first to have a full chassis and seperate engine Dyno. His specialty was setting up fuel injection systems.
Just walking into the place was like taking a step back in time, twilight Zone.
The office wall was full of SCCA trophies and quite a few pictures of road race Corvettes.
Is anyone else familiar with this shop?
