Default Delco alternator decoding

Hi! I'm looking for some assistance decoding an original GM Delco alternator that I have. Vehicle application, model year, and anything else that can be deciphered would be appreciated.

A good source for information might be that "Chevrolet by the Numbers 65-69" book. I have the '70-75 version, but the alternator number is not listed in there. I suspect this one is a '69.

Any information would be appreciated. Thanks!

Below is what is stamped in the housing, as best as I can read it.

H 63A
1100774
9F23 12VNEG

I'm assuming that it may be a '69 model alternator, but don't know what it was used on. I plan to have it tested, and then possibly make it available for sale (assuming that it isn't correct for my own Nova!) for someone who might need a "correct" date-coded part for their restoration.

I have looked in my copy of CBTN 65-69 for you. 9f23 seems to mean June 23rd 1969
The 63a tells us that it is rated at 63 amps.
Alans book does not list this number, and it shows no application for a 63 amp alternator on a Chevrolet passenger car for 69. It may be a shortcoming of Alan's book, but possibly it means that the alternator is for a truck or for a different GM division. I also looked in the 69 Shop manual, and the number is not listed in there either.

Thanks for checking. Could it possibly be a B-O-P type alternator? If yes, where would be a good source to look?

It does work fine, though - I had it tested.

My interchange book shows 1100774 as a 1967-70 Buick alternator. It says its a 55amp though?

El Camino,
Thanks! You are the first person to actually say that they have found that number. I've been looking at the stamping, and can't seem to decide if that last digit is a "4" or a "1".

Does your book show a 1100771? If yes, what is it. Thanks a bunch!

Martin,
Thanks for the information. Did you get your dash lens replaced?
