Very nice car. I don't know that I would call that a "salvage" yard though. Here in NJ that would be called a "Superfund site" and there would be 20' high fences with "danger, radioactive" signs! LOL! Hey Mark, what do you know about the story that some of the early Z28's had the 4P on the cowl tag? What time frame was the 4P used for the Z28's?

Just have to say outside of an awesome looking car its labeled as an RS (Grille) and im partial to them. Hard to see whats on the front femders for emblems 302 if i can think right so therse a 302 RS yeah i know the Z's didnt get the Z emblems right a away but got to say i love the pics showing the RS emblems on a Z. When did the switch to the RS emblems oto the fenders

Thanks guys,
Hawaiian: None of the 67's had Z-28 or 302 emblems on them. If they were Rally Sports, they got the RS treatment just like any other RS except they got the hood and decklid stripes. You wouldn't know they were Z's untill you opened the hood or heard it idle The red/black car was a factory cowl plenum car, so it was pretty neat looking with the hood open. Jeff: Actually there was a ton of neat stuff in that yard in Las Vegas. That pic was taken after the car was cleaned up a little. When I first saw the car it was out behind a building with 4 flat tires (it had been there for 20 years), the hood was missing, it had a COPO BE rear in it with the 4:10 housing with trac bar in the back seat, sheet metal between the rear seat and trunk etc. - some one had a ton of fun in that car! It was from Cone Chev in CA originally. Also in that yard was 3 '69 Z's, a '67 L78 body and a bunch of Chevelle and Camaro parts including vert shells and a bunch of hi-po stuff. Nice people too. The 4P cars are suspected to just be the first 25 built Dec 29/66 thru mid January 67 for the SCCA racers. I'm on the trail of one of the three Canadian cars right now, so I had to chuckle when I read your question Any 2L 4P car built 01A or 01B would definitely get my attention. Mark

I know of an Oct 66 car that was built to be a TransAm race car, but that's too early for the Z28. It's a 4P, but I think it's an RS/SS.
