Did chevrolet ever install a 454 LS-6 motor in a 1970 Nova...even as a special order car?

No, none that I'm aware of. The largest engine available from the factory in the Nova from 68-70 was the L78 396/375hp version.

The factory didn't but Nickey Chevrolet and Baldwin/Motion did, and then some, to include LS7s and L88s.

I put a 4sp and LS 7 in one a few years ago yeeee haaaaw!
