Default 4.56 gears for a cruise night car?

My car came equipped with 4.56 gears from the factory. I plan on using the car as a cruise night car that might do 500 miles tops per year and wondered if this is too much gear for the street (302 motor and M21 tranny). I had a '72 LT-1 Corvette with 4.11's and had no problems with the gears, but I have never had a 4.56 car. Any opinions would be appreciated. Thanks,

4:56's are fun even on the street. I had a set in a 56 Chevy back in high School but then gas was now where what it cost today.

Well, let's see...

On the Super-Cruise at last year's Supercar Reunion we had 4.56's in our Yenko Camaro, Hassett's Motion Camaro had 4.88s, and Boje had 5.38s in Little Hoss!

I don't see a problem as long as you aren't planning extended interstate driving!
