I just removed the gas tank from my ls6 and found another build sheet!!! This makes 5 copies of the build sheet so far and counting. The 1st was behind the upper rear seat back, along with 2 other sheets for 2 other cars, the 2nd was underneath the rear seat,3rd and 4th were glued behind each front fender and had" hood from bank "written on them in red crayon, the latest has" c-2" written on it in red crayon. This is a leeds car, built 1st week on june. anyone else with a leeds car find build sheets in these same areas?

If, for whatever reason, a vehicle goes to reject for some sheet metal changes, there are racks of painted hoods, fenders etc. ready for a quick change. These racks or "banks" are kept full so that the delay in shipping of the vehicle is kept to a minimum. This is probably what happened to your car.

Rob,thats good news. You may find more buildsheets still!
I would agree with Keith on the "Bank" notation, but the C-2 could be similar to the stamping I find on Trunk shelfs. If you pop your Trunk lid,6 inches to the right of the latch mechanism on the high shelf, not the trunk floor, is an upside code. Mine says "C-27" and is a Oct 69 Leeds Car. I have seen almost all GM cars with a similar code, not just Chevelles. Possibly a Fisher Body plant identity code. |
