muslcar, you can use a set of hood pin plates from the 70-72 Chevelle. They are solid stainless steel, instead of a hollow type stainless used on Mopars, and they have the rubber cushion to protect the paint on the hood. Year One sells them under part #GN223 for $19.95 for the scuff plates and gasket set. The hole is set up for a 1/2" diameter hood pin, but you could use them with the 7/16" ones that Mr.Gasket sells. I would recommend buying a complete kit (#1756R) for $34.95, which includes the pins (stainless), scuff plates & gaskets, hairpin clips, vinyl coated lanyards, and attaching hardware...........RatPack..............

On the hood pin subjct.....does anyone make the 12 inch long props/standoffs that you see people use when they have a fiberglass hood which is unhinged ? They use them to show the engine and it is an extnsion of the existing hood pins.Or do people just make them somehow ?

Belair, we made a set of those for a friends 69 Six Pack Super Bee using another set of hood pins welded to chrome plated tubing that slid down over the top of the pins on the car. The hairpin clips that were attached to the hood lanyards held the hood in place on top with an extra set holding the poles in place on the bottom. I will email you a diagram later this evening if you want............RatPack..............
