First off I do not know enough about motion cars to make any real decision about this car but if it is a motion car, and not one that was just "tweaked" at motion, it should have a 454, L-88, LS6? Not a Chevy 350. I also think that the lack of response leads me to believe that the car was built in someones garage.

That's not necessarily true. Here is a small block Motion car:

It's funny how he believes it MIGHT be a Baldwin Motion Vette. A phone call to Joel and $1500.00 would be a definite way to confirm the car's authenicity. The bidding is up to 15K. I don't see how the 1500 fee to Joel would be a problem.

And why would you replace the LT1 with a run in the mill crate motor would it not be worth more to rebluild the LT1??

15k and reserve met??? How can this guy possibly think he has a REAL Motion and not know what it's worth?? You would think if it was the real deal his reserve would be A L O T higher and he would have already had the $1,500 proof from Rosen. This is probably another one of the overnight B/M experts that was born when ERTL came out with the 1/18 Diecasts of them. And wasn't the Baldwin connection with Motion Perf. gone by '72? Or was that the last year? I forget when Baldwin Chev closed up. I'm not being a pessimist or anything as I'd love to see more Motion cars surface, but this Vette just looks like it's lacking a lot of the "Motion" touches. I mean it wouldn't take much for a little mis-information to become some real trouble in the future. This Vette could change hands two more times, have some Motion emblems and stickers and whatever else added in the just the right place and we could have another brown copo issue on ebay in the 6-figures.

Looks like the side scoops are the late model design as well.

Believe '71 is the last year for the Baldwin Motion cars. After that just Motion.
