Default Acorn Lug Nuts

I have two different types of the 7/16-20, stainless capped, acorn lug nuts. Anyone know the application for each? Time frame perhaps? Just another curiosity.

Chevelleless after 46 years......but we did find a low mileage, six speed, silver 2005 Corvette. It will just have to do for now.

The one on the bottom looks like the same nut used on the 1969-70 14X7 SS rims.
