SCR6 update, 8-15-03

Just a quick update. The number of cars registered is at 47. And, looking at the list, the quality of cars attending is unbelievable.

Action at the track should be exciting, with several of the supercars taking part. A couple have even "freshened up" their engines a bit for the event. Will be interesting to see how they perform.

Had a nice visit with Helen Gibb this morning. She and daughter Nancy will be attending, with Helen's ZL-1. Helen said she wanted to come to the track, but would not be racing. Well, knowing the Gibb family and their passion for racing, hum. [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif[/img] Anyway, it will be great to have Helen and Nancy at SCR6. For the ones who have not had the pleasure of meeting them, it would be worth the trip to Collinsville just to meet them. Talk about a trip down memory lane. I for one never tire of listening to them talk about "the good ole days".

In addition, Ann Hartweg will be attending with Dennis' ZL-1. I know this will be hard for Ann, but I am glad she will be there. Ann's late husband Dennis had become very involved in Supercar Reunions, not only showing a supercar, but also displaying a very nice collection of Gibb memorabilia.
