Trying to identify dealerships in the western Chicago suburban area. I am the "postee" of the '69 Z-28 in the "sale lot" here on the Registry. In an attempt to create a "title trail", the owner has shared with me information on two dealerships. Does anyone know of Avenue Chevrolet in Geneva, IL or Jim Wolf Chevrolet in St. Charles, IL? Jim Wolf might currently be Don McCue Chevrolet. Any information would be very helpful.

Avenue Chevy was on Wilson Street in Batavia. It was one of the lower volume dealers in the day, as there was not much out that way back in the '60-'70s. They recently built a Modern facility located on Randell Road.
There is a Wolf Chevrolet in Belvidere, IL which has been there for a long time. |

Stefano, you're very close. Avenue Chevrolet used to be on Batavia Avenue (IL Rt. 31) one block north of Wilson Street. I ordered a new 84 Monte Carlo SS there in August of 83. They have been in business in Batavia since 1931. They moved to their current location on Randall Road sometime in the late 80's, because I ordered a new 1990 Chevy pickup there.
In the mid 1970's, Jim Wulff Chevy built the facility that is currently the home of Don McCue Chevrolet on Rt. 64 in St. Charles. I bought a new 1976 Chevy pickup at that Jim Wulff facility. Jim Wulff initially started business by buying out Skip Hanson Chevrolet in Geneva around 1973. The Skip Hanson facility was located at the northeast corner of IL Rt. 38 (Roosevelt Road) and IL Rt. 25, and was there for a number of years before selling to Jim Wulff. Hope this helps

Stefano and Bill: Thanx very much to both of you for your assistance. You have both supplied me with quality information toward my "quest".
Rick: I am tracking dealer info and previous owners on the '69 Z-28 that I have posted in the "sale lot". This is another piece to the puzzle. One last piece (#2 owner of 8) and I've got it.
