Wondered if any one had any thoughts on a Camaro I talked to a gentleman about.
1969 Camaro, plain Jane, has a wide ratio Muncie, set-up for a big block. Currently has a 10 bolt and NOM 1966 vintage 396. The VIN and trim tag information is as follows: VIN # 124379N615748 Trim Tag ST 69 - 12437 NOR 262499 BDY TR - 711 50 PNT 02B X-11 Guy says it's an SS car, but has no documentation and the X-11 code doesn't seem to fit with his story. Check the VIN on the transmission and see if it matches the car. Might be a first step. If the car has the factory tach, the redline would be 6000 for the COPO and L78 cars. It would be nice if you were onto something.

That would be pretty early for a COPO car and be an X11.

That seems too early for a COPO. Yenko was the first dealer to really order the COPO package and a lot of his cars were 03 and later and the NOR # on those cars were a lot lower in sequence. I would be very skeptical about the car, but check for the usual clues like the single fuel line, multileaf springs, cowl hood with correct wire harness, PDB, no emblems on fenders for engine size, etc.

He also got alot of February cars. Mine is a 2D car that is a X-11 and mine was in the second batch that he ordered. So the X-66 cars had to be a lot earlier than mine?

By VIN it is NOT to early for a COPO car... by vin # it isn't very far from my original Yenko. Only a few hundred numbers later.

I was referring to the build date.

I have an update on the camaro. It doesn't sound like the real deal after further conversation with the current owner.
It had it's original fenders on it and they were drilled for engine emblems. Additionally, it had no gauge package or Tach. Sounds like the BB heater core was added at a later date to make the package complete. Finally there was no documentation or owner history available. Time to start looking again. Thanks to all for your help. Blair
