Looks like an A/C box on the firewall to me.

I don't know Chevelles like I do Novas, but wouldn't that A/C box rule out an LS6?

A/C would rule out any solid lifter engine, L-78 included. Probably an LS-5 car at best.

Take a look around that garage. Lots of tools, tool boxes, and commercial type hardware bins for a guy that claims to not be a mechanic.

This is an air conditioned car, could not be an LS6.
Good point about all the tools. I wish I had that set up on my garage and I think I AM a mechanic.
