Default 67 chevelle cowl tag

I have a 67 ss chevelle with a 2Q on the tag. i allways see 2L on 4 speed cars but this one has 2Q. does anyone know what the Q stands for??

Looks like it also is a 4 speed code.

Check out this site.

Click on 1967 and then on the dropdown Chevelle, then on the next page click on 1967 Chevelle Information. After that you will see different clickable buttons across the page go to <font color="red">Information - R to Z </font> and then down to Trim tags. He has several trim tag pictures with them decoded. Seems the "L" was for the M20 tranny. Have fun, lots of info on his site.

Just for the record.. The "Q" code is far from proven to be a 4 speed code. There are lots of folks guessing and making assumptions and that can be dangerous... just some food for thought is all

TALKED WITH SOMEONE AT GM AND HE CONFIRMED THE Q TO BE A 4 SPEED CODE. POSSIBLY M-21 WHICH MY CAR HAS IN IT AND IS DEFINETLY THE NUMBERS MATCHING TRANS.
