I have a really nice set of finned aluminum Motion Valve covers that do have ANSEN stamped or should i say embossed on the bottom side right under the word motion but they are so nice it's hard to beleive there real is there a way to tell if there fakes ? there is not a single scratch on these things look way to new to think there 30 plus years old...no origin like USA, CHINA, JAPAN, nothing !they were never mounted on an engine by the condition of them .
I don't know to be Happy or Mad about these things ![]()

If you have a small chrome & black (Aprox)1 1/2" x 3 1/2" "Motion" embossed emblem that is not a original part of the valvecover but is glued on with two sided tape then you have a real set.

Definitely fake... There are 5-10 sets of these on ebay every week or so...While the overall "look" of the valve cover itself is correct, these type of covers are still produced and easy to get (minus emblems) for less than 100.00. the emblem in the center is someone's homemade rendition, and are much different than original emblems. Hope you didn't get stung too bad on them. Here's an original one for reference. -JB

Thats a tough question to answer, but from what i know, they were never used on Motion cars until 1970. A few 69 cars have had them, but that seems to be because they were not actually SOLD until 70, so it makes it "acceptable" for these cars to have them. I have seen several different variations of original ones, Chrome plated, polished, large Motion emblems that were modified to fit into the recesses of the covers, and smaller Motion emblems that fit without modification. Motion also sold these covers through their own speed catalogs, which they published each year, and actually made them for big and small block, and even Ford and Mopar too! I'd have to say they "never" really stopped selling them, as i believe even til this day if you have a real Motion car you can buy them from Joel.

where can i find these 100 dollar covers ? I really didnt get stung to hard but still I trusted someones word ,,that's what bites [/ QUOTE ] These molds were recently recast, and they are available from MANY speed parts vendors now brand new in boxes (no Motion emblems of course) I've seen them at every swap meet I went to this summer, usually around 85.00 for a pair, brand new. Lots of people have been putting various decals, emblems, stickers, etc in the recesses and calling them long lost 30 year old originals. I've seen them with everything from Yenko emblems glued to the top to homemade Nickey, Motion, ZL1, etc. emblems custom made and fitted into the recess. Buyer beware. heres a plain set on ebay right now. Big Block Finned Covers
