Hey guys,
I have located an original owner 1969 L78 SS396/375 Chevelle post sedan the same as the famous GM Reject. Any idea how many were made of the sedan L78 SS? What would be the value of this car all original except original block? I really need to know some more about this particular car before morning when I go to look at it. Any help would be apprieciated. Also, what would the VIN and cowl tag designate to determine this is an L78 SS sedan? Thanks, Motown ![]()

I'm not familiar with the famous "GM reject", but those A-body post cars REALLY do it for me! Not just Chevies, but ALL GM A-bodies!! Really cool in my mind, and would make one heckuva Pure Stock ride!!! In fact, someone is building one, but he's building it with a 350/300...
![]() [thinking]Man, I wish they'd put the L-72 in a post...[/thinking] |

I saw one for sale a couple months ago in Hemmings Motor News for $29,000. The original matching number's engine came with the car to install if the buyer wanted to.

Matt
No one knows for sure, not even Chevrolet. The VIN#,or Cowl tag won't call it out either. In 1969 they made 9486 L78 chevelles.400 of those with the L89 Al.Head. The 300 Post Sedan has Guesstimates floating around. Try Contacting Don Lightfoot here or on Team Chevelle,he owns one. Rick |

Thanks for thinking of me Rick
![]() Matt, if you go to my website below and follow the link for "My 69 Chevelle Resource Center" you will find some production number estimates. Also, make sure you check out the link for "Differences between 300 Deluxe and Malibu". I've done a lot of research on these 300's over the past three years and would be happy to answer any specific questions you might have, just send me an email.
