Default yenko trivia

i was just going thru an old muscle car review mag when i ran across an old article with a interview with don yenko, there is a couple of neat tid-bits that don told #1 -the entire transformation on the cars was performed in less than 3 days!! also several of the automatic cars were left as column shift cars at the customers request,-some although very few were delivered to other dealers by flat towing them across country!!!! -when the copo cars went into prod. one of them got lost!!!gm had the build/ship orders on the car but it never arrived at yenko chevrolet. three years later when the car did finally surface it was learned that an unnamed gm exeucutive had pulled the very first copo camaro off the line and had taken it for his own use!!!!! i will add more later.

heres a wild one,gm would send yenko a shipping order which included the vin of the cars being shipped. while waiting for a load of 6 cars known to be en route, yenko was informed the car hauler had been in an accident and all 6 cars were badly damaged and would not be delivered. roughly three months later,an unexpected delivery of 6 cars showed up each bearing the vins of the earlier shipment!!! the cars were all in perfect, undamaged condition. were the original cars repaired and reshipped,or were the vins reassigned to later prouduction cars?if the latter is true, what became of the original 6 cars?
